CdnR5T2

Hi I’m Leo (CdnR5T2) going through my midlife crisis and how I came about R5 turbo’s was when I saw the Movie “Never say never –James Bond 007” . back in 1984 (when I was a youthful 21 y.o.) and also when I was reading about them in Car and Driver…

Since then I have always wanted a R5 turbo 2 for the longest time. But being in Western Canada there are now probably 2 cars here and maybe at the most 6 in all of Canada. Since this car was for sale and only three hours away from Vancouver, British Columbia, it was easy to view and test drive the car. Originally a grey market import from Sun International, my future car spent some time in Las Vegas and eventually found its’ way into Seattle, Washington. I never saw one personally in my life until 3 months ago. . When I saw this one I had to have it in my stable. They are sometimes a pain when it comes to sourcing parts, but with the right positive attitude and support from the Renault community it has been fairly straight forward. I don’t regret it because until you own one …You don’t know what you’re missing. (My 3 kids think I'm nuts)

Hi Leo,

Welcome to the forum. It must be very special to have one of those cars in Canada. Good luck with the car.

Obviously, we would very much appreciate some pictures

Regards,
Erik
