popping noise on throttle release

Hi,

When I release the throttle, a popping noise comes from the exhaust. Several pops, especially when I release the throttle from high rpm. It all sounds quite impressive but it can be annoing at times. I have fitted the modified Devil exhaust but I don't think it popped like this before.

Who knows what causes this?

Hi Erik,

I think it's due to an air leak in the exhaust - air is admitted on the overrun leading which expands under the high temperature leading to the popping noise you're hearing.

Tends to occur more with an aftermarket exhaust - I think it's a cool noise!
